The £30 callout charge, explained
The £30 callout charge covers getting an electrician to you and the first stage of diagnosis on site. Any repair work beyond that is quoted and agreed with you separately before it starts.
Is it refundable? No. The £30 callout charge is non-refundable once your booking is confirmed. It reserves an electrician's time and covers the visit itself, whether or not you go ahead with further work afterwards.
Any repair work beyond the visit and diagnosis is a separate, agreed price. You will never be charged for further work without saying yes first.
What counts as an emergency
- A burning smell from sockets, switches or the fuse box
- Sockets, plugs or switches that are hot, buzzing or scorched
- The fuse box trips again as soon as you reset it
- Part or all of your home has lost power
- Damaged or exposed wiring, especially where children can reach
- Water has got into sockets, light fittings or the fuse box

Call us first if you are not sure. A short call often tells us whether you have a genuine emergency, a safe workaround, or a simple fix, and saves you the callout charge if a booking is not the right next step.
